State Port Development Conclave 2025 Highlights Kerala’s Vision for Maritime Growth
The State Port Development Conclave 2025 was held at Azhikkal, Kannur, on October 30, 2025, bringing together policymakers, industry stakeholders, and maritime experts to discuss the future of Kerala’s port sector under the state's ambitious "Vision 2031" initiative. The conclave was inaugurated by Minister for Ports Shri V. N. Vasavan.
The event focused on strategies to accelerate the development of Kerala’s maritime infrastructure, with particular emphasis on transforming Azhikkal Port into a major cargo handling hub. Discussions also highlighted the remarkable progress and success of the Vizhinjam International Seaport, which has emerged as a key driver of the state’s maritime ambitions.
In addition to major port projects, the conclave explored plans for the modernization and expansion of Kerala’s smaller ports, aiming to create an integrated and efficient port network across the state.
