Overview
Kannur Port is situated close to Kannur town. This port was a centre of coastal trade till the middle of twentieth century’s. There is break water at Mopla Bay where a Fishing Harbour is situated. The present activities of the port are conservation and licensing port land and port godown. The Port is also served as a war watching Station under Indian Navy. North boundary is the boundary pillar one mile(1.61km) north of Port. South boundary is the boundary pillar two miles(3.22km) south of the Port. East boundary is the sea shore between the northern and southern boundary Pillars to within 50 yards of high water mark spring tides. West boundary is the space enclosed by two lines running lines due west from the boundary pillars to 9 fathoms of water.
