Vizhinjam Port has received International Ship and Port Security Code. In addition to the approval of safety arrangements as per international standards, it also provides qualification to perform ship related services including crew change. This qualified the port to provide services like passenger ship operation and bunkering apart from crew change. The code was received after a ten-year wait.
